Ever tried capturing the views from your 'scope with a camera phone?   This was taken by Jonathon Cary with a Nokia via a Skywatcher180 mak and grabs many interesting lunar features (Thanks Jonathon)

2nd December 2009 onwards - moving across the sky ...

Should the sky be dark and clear around 5 pm tonight, here are a few of the sights to look for ...

West - summer triangle of Lyra, Cygnus and Aquila above Hercules

South - Pegasus with Jupiter in Capricorn below

East - the moon rising in the NE -> E with Taurus and the Pleiades, the bright clusters of Perseus above and the Andromeda Galaxy higher in the E

North - the Plough shows the constellation of Ursa Major

Not to forget ORION in the South East .... jewel bright despite the 17 day moon, trees and chimneys - plus scurrying cloudbanks

30th Nov 2009 - 12 day moon via Bresser

12d30nov09Bresser152.jpg (28833 bytes)

Still indoors :-( but crisp views of the details via the Bresser

27th Nov 2009 - almost 10-day moon

28nov09nr19d5113.jpg (45682 bytes)

Again from inside, fuzzy pics - but good views through the Bresser Skylux in the still-blue early evening ...

This through the 25mm e/p - closer-up views were good with 12mm, 15mm, but not the photos :-(

26th Nov 2009 - 9 day moon

9d26Nov097.jpg (17568 bytes)

Terminator moves on ... plenty to see with the Bresser

25th Nov 2009

7d25Nov09Bresser5023.jpg (39841 bytes)

It's fuzzy, cloud sweeping over it,  from a warm indoor room,

through double-glazing,  with neighbours security lights flashing on and off

BUT it was still a (short) viewing session of the moon through

a telescope (Bresser Skylux)  after months of cloudy skies and illness 8-)

8dBresser5071.jpg (23258 bytes)

Photos not clear but there was plenty to see ... (need an Atlas? Excellent free software from Virtual Moon Atlas)

21st Nov 2009

Our moon is clouded over (for a change!) so here's one of Saturn's ... Enceladus

This unprocessed image was captured by NASA's Cassini spacecraft during its Nov. 21, 2009 flyby of Saturn's moon Enceladus. It shows the moon's south polar region, where jets of water vapor and other particles spew from fissures on the surface.
