| Approaching 8 pm - Moon not clear from Backyard yet! (Bresser) | Checked out Peter Grego's live webcam in Birmingham and found he had a clear Moon! | Last bit of cloud just before 8 pm then the skies cleared and miraculously stayed that way!! |
From 8:16 till near 9.30 pm the moon was still in the penumbra
Check out Jodrell Bank website

| Moon grew redder as the shadow grew | By 22:44 the Moon was in total shadow until 23:21 when we are half way through | The Moon began to emerge from the umbra region at 23:58. |
| Grimaldi emerged again as the shadow started to pass and the full moon looked almost like a crescent! |
|
Stars of Leo were clear round the moon as it
dimmed. Saturn was brilliant further west Didn't stay for up for the end of eclipse at around 2:30 am! |
